A Braille Reading System Based on Electrotactile Display With Flexible Electrode Array

Due to visual impairment and lack of social attention, the reading problem blind has not been well resolved. Many existing Braille devices still have many problems are accepted by public. This paper developed a portable system based on electrotactile display technology. The proposed is composed six-channel stimulator, flexible electrode array for graphical user interface (GUI) monitoring control. Based flexibility system, two strategies designed: spatial mode sequential mode. was preliminary tested six sighted subjects. results showed that subjects were able recognize characters with more than 80% accuracy within less 10 seconds initial use. Compared systems, this portable, wearable in
